Our Mission

The Washington Metropolitan Chapter Alumni Association's mission is to provide local area Tennessee State University graduates an organized forum through which the collective of association members, supporters and community members can grow, learn and contribute to the betterment of Metropolitan Washington area communities. Specific goals and initiatives supported by the association include:

• • Fostering continuing camaraderie and fellowship among TSU grads,
• • Supporting higher educational opportunities for aspiring youth through direct and indirect financial and other assistance,
• • Enabling professional and interpersonal development of Chapter members through social contact and business networking,
• • Maintaining a strong bond between chapter members, the National Alumni Association, and the University, and
• • Promoting the "Legacy of Greatness", an attribute indigenous to TSU alumni.

Getting involved in the TSUAA-WDC alumni chapter is a great way to connect with your fellow alumni, friends, and the greater Washington, DC community. Our TSUAA-WDC offers social and networking opportunities in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area to keep you connected to Tennessee State University and your fellow alumni. From service projects, sports gatherings, happy hours, holiday dinners, and much more, our alumni chapter has something for everyone. Whether you are new to the area, a longtime resident, or just passing through, we’d love to see you at our next TSUAA-WDC event.
